Trauma Research


The mission of the Trauma Research Committee is to promote epidemiological, clinical and basic research in the field of trauma in order to enhance the academic mission of the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine  and trauma care at Scott & White.

Specific Goals

  1. To encourage and promote multidisciplinary involvement in trauma research including prevention, biomechanics, basic sciences, acute care, rehabilitation, community reintegration and trauma economics, as well as the search for extramural funding of such research.
  2. To promote the publication of trauma-related research in peer-review journals, as well as the presentation of such research at local, regional, national and international meetings.
  3. To provide a forum to assist in providing guidance, advice, review and consultation to researchers contemplating or actively involved in trauma-related research projects and activities.
  4. To serve as a central repository for the registration of trauma-related research projects, as well as system-wide dissemination of information related to proposed research projects, publications and other trauma-related activities.
