CEO/COO, CMO named to Scott & White Hill Country leadership

TEMPLE, Texas – Scott & White Healthcare has announced the appointment of the management team to lead the system’s Hill Country region.

Kevin A. Leeper has been named chief executive officer (CEO) of the Scott & White Hill Country region hospitals and chief operating officer of the Hill Country clinics. The region includes Scott & White Hospital-Llano, the Wayne & Eileen Hurd Regional Medical Center Campus – Scott & White (currently under construction in Marble Falls) and the Scott & White clinics in Horseshoe Bay, Kingsland, Llano, Marble Falls and San Saba.

Leeper, who has served as CEO for the Scott & White Healthcare Llano system since March 2001, and the Llano-based management team were instrumental in the merger that paved the way for the Hurd Regional Medical Center Campus. He will attain a broader scope of responsibility with the opening of the regional medical center campus clinic building in 2013, followed by a new hospital bed tower the following year.

A graduate of Texas Christian University,  Leeper holds a master of business administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Houston at Clear Lake.

Randall Grimshaw, MD, has been named chief medical officer of the Scott & White Hill Country region. Board certified in family practice medicine, Dr. Grimshaw has served as a physician leader for the system’s Hill Country region since 2008 when the Hoerster clinics joined Scott & White. He began his career in the region with the Hoerster Clinics in 2003, serving as an emergency medicine physician on staff at the former Llano Memorial Hospital.

As chief medical officer, Dr. Grimshaw will oversee a growing clinical practice group which is currently comprised of 23 physicians, nine advanced practice professionals and six clinics. The group practice is expected to expand to a total of 38 physicians and eight clinics by the end of 2013, with additional health care professionals recruited to staff the new acute care facility in Marble Falls.

Dr. Grimshaw received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. His clinical experience has included work in both small group and multi-specialty practice settings.

"Kevin and Randall have played key roles in bringing health care services to the Hill Country," said Pat Currie, chief operating officer for Scott & White Healthcare. "Their continued leadership will be essential as the Hurd Regional Medical Center Campus comes into its own."

Glen Couchman, MD, chief medical officer for Scott & White Healthcare adds, "Our commitment to the Hill Country has been exemplified by Randall and Kevin, and it is only fitting that they lead our regional operations there."
