McLane Children’s Scott & White building pediatric clinic in Belton
- Clinic to help meet demand for children’s medical services -
CENTRAL TEXAS – McLane Children’s Scott & White broke ground today for a pediatric clinic building at 1009 Arbor Park Drive in Belton, adjacent to the access road for West U.S. 190. The new 7,500 square-foot clinic facility is expected to open by May 2013.
"We have outgrown our current clinic building on Sparta Road," said Dr. Reedy Beeram, chairman of pediatrics and physician-in-chief for McLane Children’s Hospital Scott & White. "This new facility will become the next chapter in health care for children in Belton and the surrounding area. It will make it easier for parents and caregivers to access vital medical services that are necessary for a child’s healthy future."
The ceremonial groundbreaking event marked the beginning of construction where workers have already been busy preparing the foundation of the future building. When completed, the clinic will feature 11 exam rooms and one treatment room. Services will include primary pediatric care, along with behavioral health, and laboratory services.
Dr. Timothy L. Whitaker will serve as the medical director for the clinic when it opens. The clinic will house the three providers, all currently at the Sparta Road location, and continue to have regular office hours on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
American Constructors, an Austin company, is building the clinic, which has been designed by Michael W. Marrs Architects.
