Miracle Match Kids

Doris Elementary School cheering on their Miracle Match Kid classmateMiracle Match Kids gives kids kindergarten through 12th grade the opportunity to participate in a marathon - one mile at a time.

The MMK program was created to encourage children to exercise regularly to promote health and wellness and to involve them in life-saving causes like the Miracle Match Marathon, an annual event benefiting people all over the world needing a marrow transplant.

Miracle Match Kids run or walk 26.2 miles over any period of time and log their progress. Finishers are then presented a medal to recognize their accomplishment.

Award Presentation

  • At a Miracle Match Kids event - students can attend a Miracle Match Kids partnering event to log their final mile and attend the marathon awards presentation. Students must have completed and logged 25 miles before the event. Miracle Match Kids must register for the partnering event directly with the event sponsor and include their log sheet with the registration form.

Parents are welcome to participate in a running event but will need to register separately from the child for the event.

  • At school - students can turn their mileage log to their physical education teacher (at participating schools) to mail in, and the medal will be sent to the teacher to present. Teachers may request more information by e-mailing miraclematchmarathon@swmail.sw.org Send an e-mail
  • At home - a parent can mail the mileage log, and the medal will be mailed directly to the student.

There is no limit to how many miles a Miracle Match Kid can run. Download a log sheet PDF Document and mail it in for additional medals and certificates.
