Research

Preceptor: Resident’s Preceptor or Residency Director

The Research rotation is a unique opportunity for residents to design and initiate a research idea. This research idea has the potential to impact the practice standards at Scott & White. The goal of the rotation is to provide experience in aspects of conducting research.

At the beginning of the residency period, the resident participates in meetings with the preceptor to discuss the idea and strategies to identify the necessary objectives and methods. The resident will then be required to submit their research to the Investigational Review Board at Scott & White and gain approval to order to initiate their research.

The resident will be required to present their findings at meetings on the national level and also within Texas. At the end of the year, the resident will present their results to the Scott & White Drug Therapy Task Force
