Research

All residents are required to participate in clinical or basic science research in an ongoing manner. A research rotation is provided as well as time during other rotations as needed for completion of research projects. Each resident must complete one project during his/her five years, with submission for publication required.

The orthopaedic group actively participates in clinical trials of new drugs and devices.

An animal surgery laboratory is maintained at Scott & White with facilities for feeding and housing small animals. A full-time employee maintains this facility and assists the staff and residents when needed.

An active Biostatistics Department is available and funded by Scott & White. All varieties of statistical analysis and assistance in the design of appropriate investigational models are available through this group.
