The Eye Institute

The Scott & White Eye Institute opened in April of 2003. Located near the main clinic and hospital complex in Temple, the building is also home to the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
We have designed this state-of-the-art facility to maximize convenience and quality for our patients, efficiency for our staff and to provide optimum space for resident education and ongoing research. All major ophthalmic surgery is performed in the Ambulatory Surgery Center just down the hall from the Eye Institute.
The Scott & White Eye Institute includes the following:
- Fifty fully equipped eye lanes
- Two treatment rooms for minor procedures
- Five laser rooms
- Refractive surgery suite with excimer laser
- Eight refraction rooms with automated refraction equipment
- Ancillary testing areas
- Two ophthalmic photography suites
- Visual fields
- HRT and OCT

- Electrophysiology
- Ophthalmic pathology reading room with 10-head microscope
- Low-vision center
- Scott & White Optical shop
- Full-service optical
- Contact lenses

Dedicated resources for the residency program:
- Five fully equipped eye lanes dedicated to resident use
- Cunningham library and conference room
- Resident office area with individual desks for each resident
