Goals of Training
The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Scott & White maintains an active clinically based program, providing research experiences in a basic science laboratory and promoting clinically based research. The division offers a two-year training program that is designed to graduate nephrology physicians who are compassionate, caring, expert in the delivery of nephrology services, and who are inculcated with life-long learning skills.
Specific goals of our training program
- Evaluation and management of clinical renal disorders in the outpatient and inpatient settings
- Training in immunobiology and transplantation nephrology
- Preparation and delivery of scientific information with critical appraisal of published literature
- Training in clinical and basic laboratory research
- Development of a nephrologist who is compassionate, sensitive to cultural issues, uses evidence based medicine, pursues life-long learning, has high ethical standards, is cognizant of systems based practice, who excels in teaching and who has a life-long interest in the development of knowledge
