Why should I choose your small town program over an urban program?
Scott & White is the major medical facility for all of Central Texas, though it happens to be located in a smaller town. Scott & White provides healthcare not only to a large population of its own health plan patients (over 186,000), but to a large indigent population as well, therefore providing a wide array of clinical experiences.

One of the many advantages of our "smaller town" program is the ability to enjoy the best of two worlds. Living in a town like Temple carries the benefits of low crime, lower cost of living and no traffic. In fact, the commute to work is just 10 minutes, no matter where in town you live! Another advantage is that because major lenders and banks are very familiar with Scott & White, and its residents, new homes are affordable and easy to finance.

On the other hand, for those of you who enjoy the advantages of a big-city life, Austin, the live music capitol of the world, is only an hour away. Similarly, Dallas and San Antonio (two and half hours), and Houston (three hours), are easily reached.
