Teamwork, trust and quality clinical care describe our pediatric services at Scott & White. Our new Children’s hospital (hospital within a hospital) along with a large group of excellent pediatricians and support staff that provide services in several regional clinics exemplify the caliber of the care that we provide for children in Central Texas and the surrounding areas. We have a vested interest in our children, therefore, proper health maintenance and prevention of illnesses is our highest priority.

Our services have been growing we have been attracting elite professionals to deliver the highest possible level of care. Our broad sub-specialty services range from genetics and child development to cardiology, complemented by an excellent surgical team fully equipped to care for complex surgical cases. We have a strong pediatric intensive care service with critical care pediatricians and hospitalists that deliver a high level care and support a level one trauma center. Our 60-bed neonatal intensive care unit provides care for high acuity infants including extracorporeal circulation membrane oxygenation (ECMO) with one of the best outcomes in the country. In addition, we have safe and efficient ground and air transportation teams that transport critically ill infants and children from regional hospitals to the Children’s Hospital at Scott & White for tertiary and quaternary care. The dedicated child cancer center coupled with quality research gives us hope for future treatments and cures.

Our team is comprised of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, specialized pharmacists, respiratory therapists, social workers, child life therapists, speech therapists and occupational therapists. Each member plays an integral part in the overall success of our mission -- taking care of children. We are all committed to the same goal, “to provide the most personalized, comprehensive and highest quality of care, enhanced by medical education and research.” Scott & White, as a part of the Texas A&M College of Medicine, trains future physicians and pediatricians of the highest caliber. The students education, clinical skills and research exposure are all guided by our dedicated staff.

The care and support we provide to our children and their families extends well into the community. A safe, “home away from home ,” is provided by the Ronald McDonald house to our out of town parents and families. We have a well-organized and well-executed Children’s Miracle Network organization that is actively involved in raising funds to support and promote services in Central Texas. These are just two examples of the warmth, hospitality and services provided by our community. This small town delivers big on quality and extensive medical services for our pediatric population. Scott & White, along with the efforts of the community, truly provide quality, caring services for our pediatric patients.
