Scott & White doctor named to Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners
- Gov. Perry appoints Joe Martin, D.P.M. to five-year term -
TEMPLE, Texas – Scott & White podiatrist Joe E. Martin, Jr., of College Station, has been named by Gov. Rick Perry to the nine-member State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. The board is responsible for licensing podiatric physicians and regulating podiatric medicine in Texas.
“This is an honor to Dr. Martin and to Scott & White, and reflects the high esteem they are both held in throughout Texas,” said Alfred B. Knight, president and CEO at Scott & White. “We are proud but not surprised that Dr. Martin’s high standards have been recognized, and that he is working on behalf of all Texans to assure that they continue to receive the best care from licensed podiatrists.”
Martin is a senior staff podiatrist for the Scott and White Clinic in College Station. He is past president and board member of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Martin received a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and a medical degree from the California College of Podiatric Medicine. His term will expire in 2013.
The Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners licenses and regulated podiatric medicine in Texas, through testing, licensing and enforcement programs.
