Nursing Education Assistance Program

Teaching use of IV The past decade has brought many changes to the healthcare industry and the coming years will create more challenges. The need for well-educated nurses has become increasingly important. The Scott & White Nursing Education Assistance Program is designed to assist Central Texas residents pursuing a career in nursing.

Scott & White has supported nursing education since the first nursing school class graduated in 1904. The Scott & White School of Nursing has historically been the premier school of its type in the nation.

In 1970 the Scott & White School of Nursing was transferred to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Clinical experiences for nursing students continue to be scheduled within the Scott & White system. In the 1970s Scott & White extended its support of nursing education to McLennan Community College; in the 1980s to the University of Texas; and in the 1990s to Temple College and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

The Scott & White Nursing Education Assistance Program continues their support for the education of nurses in Central Texas. Applications can be made between January 16 and April 15 each year.
