The Scott & White Division of Cardiology, a part of the Scott & White Heart & Vascular Institute, maintains a strong reputation as a leader in treating cardiovascular disease and was recognized for the ninth consecutive year as a 100 Top Hospital* for cardiovascular care. With services extending from prevention, diagnosis and screening to treatment, interventions and rehabilitation by medical specialists, the Division of Cardiology offers patients expert care enhanced by medical education and research.

The Division of Clinical Cardiology is often the entry point for access to all of the complex services available at the Scott & White Heart & Vascular Institute. Patients with very common heart problems, such as angina, leaking heart valves, heart failure and heart rhythm disturbances, as well as some very rare forms of heart disease, are evaluated in the clinic. Physicians perform the initial exams of the patients and then obtain help from other more-specialized members of the division, if necessary.

Scott & White offers state-of-the-art tests and procedures to assist in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients. We recognize that no two patients are alike and listen carefully to patients and determine the most effective treatment plans.

Our cardiologists emphasize a healthy lifestyle and we provide access to resources such as dietary counseling and cardiac rehabilitation to help patient’s achieve success. They also work closely with our heart and vascular surgeons, our diabetes and lipid specialists and other physicians throughout the clinic.

We treat all varieties of heart and blood vessel diseases including:

  • Heart attacks (myocardial infarction)
  • Coronary artery disease (blockages in the heart arteries)
