What Is the Hero Response Team?

Did you know all the blood collected at Scott & White stays in the Central Texas area? We're proud to serve our community, and we know you'll be, too, by joining the Hero Response Team.

The Hero Reponse Team is comprised of business owners, teachers, church members, business professionals and other members of the community. Members receive an e-mail or fax whenever the community blood supply has reached a dangerous level and an alert has been issued. The Hero Response Team then e-mails or posts this alert throughout the community to encourage others to give blood.

The Hero Reponse Team plays a vital part in the community by helping sustain our blood supply for our friends and neighbors.

How Do I Join?

Joining the Hero Reponse Team is one of the easiest ways you can impact your community. You don't have to make a lot of money, be in great health or have a lot of spare time. You just need to have passion about saving the lives of people right here in Central Texas.

You can make a difference by letting us know I Want to Help! We'll contact you shortly after we receive your request to personally thank you for joining. If you don't hear from us too often, don't worry! We only activate our alerts when our supply has the potential to reach a critical low.

You can also help not only by alerting the community of a shortage but also by preventing a shortage through regular education and promotion. Visit our Literature Rack for online copies of our brochures you can print or e-mail from home.
