What is HealthExpress?
HealthExpress is a fast, friendly, low-cost walk-in clinic and pharmacy specially designed for patients on the go. This new clinic will offer the same expert care our patients have come to expect — only faster. Patients can "walk-in" without an appointment and receive speedy medical care for minor injuries and common illnesses.
What type of illnesses will be treated at HealthExpress?
HealthExpress is designed to provide treatment for most common illnesses in patients 12 months and older. These illnesses include:
- Cough
- Colds
- Fever
- Allergies
- Rash/skin irritations
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- School and sports physicals
- Eye infections
- Ear pain
- Headache
- Minor injury
- Minor aches and pains
- Vaginal discharge/burning
- Urinary track infections
What conditions does HealthExpress not see?
HealthExpress is not designed to treat major emergencies (chest pain, seizures, difficulty breathing, overdose, unconsciousness, fractures, lacerations, etc.). HealthExpress is not equipped to provide routine healthcare needs, which are generally taken care of by the patient's primary care physician (high blood pressure, diabetes, well child, follow-ups, etc). Think “quick access for simple problems.”
Are there any age limitations?
Yes. HealthExpress sees patients who are 12 months old or older.
What other services will be available to HealthExpress?
Some laboratory tests can be performed at HealthExpress, including urinalysis, strep screenings, pregnancy testing, and finger stick glucose checks. Flu shots and other immunizations will also be available when necessary.
Who will provide my care at HealthExpress?
HealthExpress is staffed with specially trained physician assistants and nurse practitioners who practice under the supervision of a physician.
Will HealthExpress file insurance? (UPDATED)
Yes! Beginning May 1, 2009, Health Express will be able to file with most insurance carriers.
Will HealthExpress file Medicare? (UPDATED)
Yes! Health Express will be a Medicare provider as of May 1, 2009.
What does it cost to see a provider?
It depends on the illness and the extent of the provider's treatment. Most visits range from $59 to $95, which does not include any needed labs or injections.
