Volunteers
The Miracle Match Marathon benefits people across the world who need a marrow or stem cell transplant. Organized by the Waco Firefighters' Association, the marathon raises funds to tissue type those interested in joining the Be The Match Registry, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program Registry. Many others in the Waco community and throughout Central Texas have volunteered to help make this marathon a success, helping not only patients in Texas, but patients throughout the United States and the world. Will you or someone you know help this year?
Volunteers are needed in several areas, including:
- Staffing the packet pickup tables the morning of the race
- Race day registration
- Patrolling the route during the race
- Helping with course set-up
- Rest stops (individuals or organizations)
- Cheering squads
To volunteer to help the Miracle Match Marathon, please send in a completed Volunteer Form
or contact the Race Director at miraclematchmarathon@swmail.sw.org.

Could your club, fraternity, sorority or organization help?
Your club, fraternity, sorority or organization can contribute by sponsoring a marathon rest stop. Sponsoring a rest stop is not difficult and requires a minimum of three to four people. Tables, water, electrolyte drinks and fruit will all be provided.
We encourage groups to become as creative as they wish in developing a theme for their rest stop. Decorations and cheering squads at the rest stop are optional and at the organization's expense, but an award will be presented to the most creative and runner-supportive rest stop. Rest stops will be judged by the marathoners who run the course and a panel of judges.
For information on sponsoring a rest stop, please call 254-724-7000.
