The Miracle Match Marathon also offers a special kids run called Miracle Match KIDS. The purpose of this event is to encourage our school children to maintain regular exercise in their everyday lives to promote health and wellness.

The Miracle Match KIDS is a full marathon, but it's run one mile at a time until the child completes 26 miles.

This event is open to students from kindergarten through the 12th grade. For a $10 entry fee, the student is enrolled in the Miracle Match Kids program and they will receive a T-shirt and log sheet to record each mile that they run or walk. Once they complete the 26th mile, they receive a marathon finisher's medal.

We also invite you to sponsor an area student who may want to participate in the Miracle Match KIDS event, but is unable to pay the $10 entry fee. Please include an additional sponsorship for a child on the Miracle Match KIDS registration form. THANK YOU!

Why is Miracle Match KIDS important?

The Miracle Match Kids event is much more than just a race or a fun run. We invite you to watch this video made for the 2008 race to learn more about this special event. The video is 20MB, so it may take a few minutes to download.

Awards Presentation

Students completing the Miracle Match KIDS can have their awards presented to them two ways:

1. At the Miracle Match Marathon event: Students need to complete and log 25 miles before the Miracle Match Marathon. Return the log sheet with their registration for the one-mile event. Their Miracle Match Kids medal will be presented to them at the event awards presentation following the completion of the one mile event.
   
2. Mailed by their physical education teacher: Students can work on their mileage during the year and turn their mileage chart to the physical education teacher. When the teacher send it to us, we will send the medal to the teacher for presentation
   
3. Mailed by the student or parent: Students can work on their mileage during the year and mail their mileage chart to the Miracle Match Marathon office. We will send the medal directly to the student.

There is no limit to how many miles a Miracle Match Kid can run. Should they continue past their first 26 miles, they can receive additional medals and certificates.
