About Us

The first ophthalmologist joined Scott & White Clinic in 1895, and from that date the ophthalmology department has been the choice of eye care for thousands of children and adults. For decades, Scott & White has been offering the most complete, expert eye care in Central Texas. Now we've strengthened that commitment by creating a comprehensive institute designed to meet the ever-increasing eye care needs of the region.

Located in the new Scott & White Pavilion in Temple, the Scott & White Eye Institute is the only facility in Central Texas with fellowship trained physicians in every subspecialty offered in Ophthalmology. Our beautiful new facility offers the complete spectrum of eye care from routine eye exams to cornea transplants to Neuro-Ophthalmology. Scott & White has always taken pride in its expertise in ophthalmic care; but with a new facility, new technology and new physicians, that care has been elevated to an even greater level of expertise.

The new institute offers patients the most advanced technology, easier appointment access, bigger exam rooms and more parking. The new Scott & White Optical gives patients the opportunity to purchase glasses at Scott & White from a selection of hundreds of custom-fitted frames.

Scott & White has always been known for its emphasis on research, and the creation of a new Ophthalmic Vascular Research Program enhances that reputation. Internationally known researcher, Lih Kuo, Ph.D., and his team will devote their careers to researching eye diseases, which may provide new treatment options for patients.

The Scott & White Eye Institute is another example of Scott & White’s commitment to advance healthcare in Central Texas. This endeavor is just the first of many to further enhance the superb quality of care that our patients have come to expect from our medical institution.
