Use Your IRA for Charitable Giving
Recent legislation allows individuals age 70½ and older to make direct transfers of up to $100,000 per year from their IRAs to charities without having to recognize the transfers as taxable income. This provision applies to 2008-09 tax years and expires at the end of 2009.
