Neuropsychology



The Division of Neuropsychology is a component of the Neuroscience Institute at Scott & White, which serves multiple geographical areas throughout its network of hospitals and regional clinics. The Division of Neuropsychology provides neuropsychological assessment to diverse neurological populations in the Central Texas region and surrounding areas. A clinical neuropsychologist is an individual with a doctoral degree in psychology, licensed as a psychologist, and who has completed a specialized training program in clinical neuropsychology.

Clinical neuropsychology examines the relationship between brain anatomy and cognitive abilities, such as intelligence, attention, memory, language, and other higher-order abilities and how these abilities are altered by central nervous system illness or injury.

Scott & White currently has three Senior Staff who work collaboratively with neurosurgeons, neurologists and researchers to manage, treat and rehabilitate people who have suffered neurocognitive problems following a suspected illness or injury.
