This conference provides pain assessment and intervention information for the bedside nurse or the nurse in an outpatient setting.

Primary areas of focus are the appropriate use of patient report in assessing pain, barriers to effective pain management and principles of analgesic use in acute pain and chronic cancer-related pain.

Any licensed nurse with the goal of impacting pain management practice by increasing knowledge of pain assessment and interventions, both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic, to improve patient outcomes is encouraged to attend.
