General Surgery
The Division of General Surgery consists of individual sections, each headed by a surgeon specializing in the respective field. The surgeons in each field have not only spent many years training and practicing their specialty, but also conduct clinical research to improve the treatment of the disease processes. In addition, strong relationships have been forged with physicians from other non-surgical fields that deal with the same type of illness in order to facilitate and improve the care of our patients. Even though many of the surgeons in the Division of General Surgery have specialized in their respective fields, all of our physicians offer personal and up-to-date therapy for routine surgical diseases.
The specialty sections include:
- Bariatric Surgery
- Colorectal Surgery
- Endocrine Surgery
- Breast Surgery
- Minimally Invasive Surgery
- Trauma/Critical Care
The care of our patients has been further complemented by the services of two nurse practitioners. Kathy Hughes and Paulette Whitfield follow the patients postoperatively and play a central role in providing continuity of care as the patients transition out of the postoperative surgical management.
