The Division of Surgical Oncology is headed by Dr. Terry C. Lairmore. The members of the division are part of an integrated, multidisciplinary Cancer Center with a comprehensive approach to the treatment of complex cancers of a broad variety. The Cancer Center consists of surgical oncologists, gastroenterologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, geneticists, nutritionists and social workers. The Division of Surgical Oncology at Scott & White offers state of the art surgical therapy for diseases and malignancies of the pancreas, liver, esophagus, stomach, colon and rectum, breast, melanoma and other skin cancers, soft tissue sarcomas, and tumors of the endocrine glands (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, endocrine pancreas). We are committed to excellence in patient care and the continuation of a comprehensive Cancer Treatment Center in Central Texas.

Scott & White offers a multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment. The surgical team at Scott & White works closely with other disciplines to provide the best possible treatment of cancer. Some of the more advanced diagnostic and therapeutic modalities offered include sentinel lymph node mapping, breast ductoscopy and ductal lavage, mammosite balloon partial breast irradiation, cytoreductive surgery with intraperitoneal chemotherapy, radiofrequency ablation of the liver, endoscopic ultrasound of the pancreas, intraoperative parathyroid hormone assay, and cyropreservation of parathyroid tissue.

Many clinical research projects including national protocols, clinical trials and basic cancer research are ongoing at Scott & White to improve and advance the treatment of cancer patients.
