Ways You Can Help

There are many ways you can continue to help those in need by helping the National Marrow Donor Program:

• Keep your address current - Always!  You cannot help unless we can find you (see Change of Address)

Many times volunteers on the registry may be a potential match, but the donor center is unable to find them because they have moved and have not forwarded their new address. We also need your new phone number and email address. Please - let us know where you are at all times.

• Sponsor a Drive!  Help put more people on the registry One of the easiest ways to help is to sponsor a drive at your church, work, school, civic club or other organization. Sponsoring a drive is as easy as 1-2-3: 

1. Contact the recruiter at the donor center and discuss dates and times that are available.
2. Secure a good location for the drive.
3. Distribute fliers and talk to groups within the organization to tell them about the drive.

• Be a financial sponsor!  Help those whose spirits are willing, but their pocketbooks are not

Many times we have more people interested in joining the registry than we have funds to type them. Your contribution to the Scott & White Marrow Donor Program will be used to tissue type those individuals. For information on how you can help, contact our office at 254-724-7000.

• Volunteer at one of our special events

We are always looking for people to help at drives, recognition events or other special events. One event that we need many volunteers for is our annual Miracle Match Marathon, held in October each year in Waco. We also have periodic need for clerical help in our office.
