Call Schedule

Call is taken by Plastic Surgery residents for inpatients at the VA Hospital and Scott & White Hospital, as a well as for Emergency Room calls at Scott & White. All call is taken from home.

There are four Plastic Surgery residents, one of whom is on call at all times. The call schedule averages one night in four. We are in full compliance with the ACGME duty hour guidelines.

The schedule is drawn up in such a way that each resident is not on call more than three nights in a row (e.g., Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Excluding weekends, the schedule should be a one-in-four rotation when possible.

The call schedule is drawn up by the Chief Resident. Any concerns or irregularities will be resolved by the Program Director.

Conferences

Monday afternoons
Presentations - 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. followed by educational conference from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Thursday mornings
Educational rounds - 6:30 a.m. sharp until 8 a.m.
