Department of Pathology

The Department of Pathology retains all renal biopsy slides and historical data on all renal biopsies done since 1979. Pathology maintains the files, and the master list is also kept by the fellowship director and a copy is given to the fellow. The Department of Pathology has light microscopy slides available on the day of the biopsy. Immunofluorescent and electron microscopy are available within 24 hours. Doctors Jones and Rao and Tom Hall, Ph.D., are an integral part of the division activities in the renal biopsy conference and they also serve as one-on-one preceptors for trainees who can review the renal biopsy material with them.
