Orthopedic Trauma
Fellowship-trained surgeons in Orthopedic Trauma and multi-specialty trauma care help to make Scott & White the only level 1 trauma center between San Antonio, Houston and Dallas. Severely injured patients can draw upon the expertise of a very large spectrum of medical specialists who use the latest imaging technology, computer-assisted surgical techniques and the most modern fracture fixation devices available.
Our Specialists
Every surgeon on the Orthopedic Trauma staff is fellowship-trained in trauma. Some staff members also hold fellowships in hand, foot or spine multi-specialty trauma care, and each senior staff member holds a faculty position at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.
Robert A. Probe, M.D.
Dr. Probe, the chair of the Department of Orthopedics and the director of the Division of Orthopedic Trauma, received his medical degree from the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. He received fellowship training in fracture care at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and earned a second fellowship in foot and ankle orthopedic care at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.Dr. Probe serves as an associate professor of surgery at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.
Hanes H. Brindley, Jr., M.D.
The director of the Division of Pediatric Orthopedics, Dr. Brindley also specializes in orthopedic trauma injuries. Dr. Brindley received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. His postdoctoral training includes surgical and orthopedic positions at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, and Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. Dr. Brindley is an associate professor of Surgery at the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.
Services We Offer
The Division of Orthopedic Trauma treats all manner of traumatic fractures, such as the types seen in automobile, agricultural and sporting accidents. The team performs associated reconstructive surgery for healing complications, and works closely with colleagues on the multi-disciplinary trauma team throughout the rehabilitation and healing process.
