- Code team training - review ACLS protocols and develop competency in code blue scenarios as individual code team leaders and while functioning as a member of a team.

- Pre-eclampsia complications
- Risk management derived scenarios - based on actual patient cases from the hospital setting, residents receive training to educate them on how to approach and handle a clinical situation which will increase the likelihood of a favorable patient outcome.
- Difficult airway training
- Initial training in adjunctive airway techniques
- Training in management of simple and complicated airways, including establishment of an airway when endotracheal intubation cannot be accomplished
- Cultural awareness, clinical ethics - in conjunction with the Department of Humanities and the Department of Pastoral Care, scenarios are derived from actual events that challenge participants to integrate the functional action of clinical ethical theories, professionalism and cultural awareness.
- Weapons of mass destruction/Mass casualties - this module is taught by the local fire department HAZMAT representative. Scenarios are derived from actual events slightly modified for simulation.
Competency evaluations
The Simulation Center regularly conducts competency evaluations for medical students, residents and professionals. Some of the assessment modules include:
- Pre-employment screening for critical care paramedic applicants
- Competency evaluations and remediation for critical care transport and ground emergency ambulance personnel
- Verification of residents' competence in MSOP core skills
- Focused history and physical examination on standardized patients
