Scott & White Clinical Simulation Center is located in Temple, Texas on the Temple College campus.
What is Simulation?
Simulation is described as a strategy – not a technology – to mirror, anticipate, or amplify real situations with guided experiences in a fully interactive way.
The Simulation Center provides access to a full spectrum of clinical simulation technologies and professional educational support for the use of clinical simulation in the following areas:
- Basic and clinical education of health care professionals
- Faculty development
- New curriculum development and curricular innovation
- Competency assessments in health care professions education
- Educational outcomes research
Clinical simulation spans the spectrum of simulation techniques including:
- Role play - "Bringing cases to life"
- Debriefing for reflective learning
- Debriefing principles and practice
- Video review
- MicroSim (screen-based simulation of ACLS scenarios)
- Standardized patient services
- High-fidelity computerized mannequins from:
- Laerdal (including SimBaby)
