School Outreach Program

The School Outreach Program provides a linkage between the health care provider and the school, enhancing the interagency communication and informational network regarding issues of the medically fragile child. The program coordinator also serves as a liaison to school nurses for educational and technological information on an as needed basis.

The components of the School Outreach Program are:

Agency participation in the collaborative initiative includes:

• The Children's Hospital at Scott & White
• Children’s Miracle Network (CMN)
• Regions 6, 12 and 13 Education Service Centers

The Poison Control Center

The Poison Control Center at Scott & White is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide assistance for poison-related accidents caused by inhalation, physical contact, ingestion or any other source.

The School Outreach Program is provided through the Children's Hospital at Scott & White, and is funded by the Children’s Miracle Network. Participation is voluntary and at no charge to the school.
