Computed Tomography (CT)
Scott & White has been a leader in computer tomography (CT) imaging since the mid-1970s. The first electron beam CT scanner in the southwest United States was installed at Scott & White in 1989, making Scott & White the first medical facility in Texas to perform CT coronary screening. Scott & White currently has multidetector CTs in several configurations (4 slice, 16 slice, 64 slice and the newest dual core system capable of up to 128 slices) to match technological capability to imaging needs.
Scott & White has continued this tradition of offering comprehensive CT imagings across the spectrum of FDA-approved services. This package of comprehensive CT imaging is not just limited to routine diagnostic CT, but also offers interventional CT and CT screening services such as CT-guided biopsy, coronary screening, CT colonoscopy, and CT screenings of the lung, abdomen and pelvis.
CT imaging services are available at multiple sites to meet the needs of our patients. We have CT capabilities in our facilities in Temple, College Station and Waco, all of which are interconnected to our main facility for image interpretation and consultation.
Our Level 1 Trauma Center is equipped with a Siemens Sensation 16 CT System that operates 24/7 to provide immediate access to online imaging in the care of our emergency department and trauma patients.
