Miracle Match Marathon Race Awards
- Marathon Awards
All full marathon finishers will receive a finisher's medal on race day. Full marathon participants will also receive a special finisher's performance shirt.
Awards include a trophy for the top three male and top three female finishers, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals for each age category for both male and female.
- Half Marathon Awards
All half marathon finishers will receive a finisher's medal on race day.
Awards include a trophy for the top three male and top three female finishers, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals for each age category for both male and female.
- 5K Awards
Awards include a trophy for the top three male and top three female finishers, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals for each age category for both male and female.
- One Mile Fun Run Awards
Awards include a trophy for the top three male and top three female finishers for the 14 and under category and for the 15 and over category. All finishers will be given a finishing ribbon.
- Marathon Relay Awards
Awards include medals for the top three teams in both the two and four person male, female and open category teams. The "High School Track Team Challenge" winning teams will also receive medals for the top three teams in each category, as well as a school trophy for the top three teams.
Two person relay teams will also be given a half-marathon finisher's medal.

Would your family, business or organization like to try to unseat the "Sunny Sides" as the reigning Spirit Award Winner? There will be two awards given this year - one for rest stops along the the half marathon course and one for those along the full marathon course.

- Sunny Sides Rest Stop
For the third year in a row, the "Sunny Sides Rest Stop" won the Spirit Award. Thank you to the Sides family for your outstanding spirit for the Miracle Match Marathon. Runner ups this year were the Leukemia/Lymphoma rest stop and the Opperman family rest stop, in honor of marrow donor Patricia Opperman.

Sunny Sides Rest Stop" was the winner of the 2005 Spirit Award. This group held their stop in honor of Jeanie Sides-Johnson, marrow recipient and her donor, Claire Sides-Northcut
Your team can be the next winner!
Your school, fraternity, sorority, community group or business could be the next Miracle Match Marathon Spirit Award winner and help save a life!
Your organization or business can help by hosting one of the rest stops along the route of the Miracle Match Marathon on Sunday, October 26, 2008. The objective is to provide the runners with the fluids they need along the course as well as encouragement. The rest stop with the most spirit will be awarded the 2008 Miracle Match Marathon Spirit Award at the conclusion of the marathon.
There will be two Spirit Awards given this year - one for the most spirited rest stop along the half-marathon route, and one for the most spirited rest stop along the full marathon route.
Criteria
Each rest stop should be manned by at least two individuals from the organization. A table, chairs, cups and drinks will be provided. Some rest stops will have fruit for the runners and some will also have portable toilets. The host organization will be responsible for handing the runners drinks as they come by the rest stop and cheering them on. Organizations are encouraged to carry a theme through their rest stop by using banners, costumes, music and cheers. Sponsoring organization will also be listed on the marathon website http://mmm.sw.org.
Rules
- Any materials such as signage, pompoms, clappers, costumes, etc. shall be at the organization's expense.
- The Miracle Match Marathon shall not be liable for any loss or damage, personal or otherwise.
- The Miracle Match Marathon reserves the right to use any photographs, video, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose, including future advertising.
- The choice of rest stops will be on a first come, first serve basis.
- Participants should be at their rest stops at least 30 minutes prior to the runners arrival and remain until the last marathon runner has passed.
Judging
Marathon runners will have the opportunity to vote on which rest stop showed the most spirit and runner support when they complete the course. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the marathon. The winner of the spirit award will be highlighted on the marathon website and given a Miracle Match Marathon t-shirt for each participant.
