The Miracle Match Marathon Relay Information

Two Person and Four Person Relays Available

The Relay Courses

Shady Cameron Park road

The course for the Marathon relays is the same as the full marathon. The two-person relay runners will change at the half way rest stop, and the four-person relay runners will change at the ¼, ½ and ¾ point rest stops.

The first quarter of the course, begins at Indian Springs Park and goes through Baylor University. It then turns south and begins a steady rise through the historic downtown area and continuing up Austin Avenue. The ¼ rest top is at the top of Austin Avenue.

The second quarter of the course goes through the Lion's Park area, by the Heart of Texas coliseum, and winds around to the point where Valley Mills Drive becomes Lake Shore Drive. Turning onto Lake Shore Drive, the runners follow the lake for a gradual include to the half way point.

The third quarter of the course continues along Lake Waco to the Dam. After crossing the dam, the course goes by the airport, the soccer fields and turns into the grounds of McLennan Community College. A fairly large portion of this section of the course is in the open with fewer shade areas than the rest of the course. The ¾ point rest top is at the baseball fields of the college.

The last quarter of the course is the most challenging, but also the most beautiful! Continuing from McLennan Community College, the course turns into Cameron Park, traversing the hills and bluff overlooking the Brazos River. Coming out of the hills, the course exits the park at Herring Street, crossing over the Brazos River. The course then continues on the north side of the Brazos River, continuing along the river to the Waco Suspension Bridge and the finish line.

The marathon relays are open to all ages. Walkers are invited to participate in the Miracle Match Marathon, however, the course will close promptly at 2:30 p.m. Sorry – no wheelchairs, baby strollers or pets are allowed on the marathon course.
