The Miracle Match Half Marathon
The Half Marathon Course
The course for the half Marathon has a type of terrain for every runner, and is a challenge to even the most experienced marathon runner. The course begins in Indian Springs Park, along the Brazos River in the shadows of the Suspension Bridge. The course is fairly level going through Baylor University, then begins a steady rise through the historic downtown area and continuing up Austin Avenue. When the half marathon runner reaches just past the first quarter mark for the marathon, they will turn and go back down Austin Avenue to the Heritage Square area, then turn to follow the Brazos River. After running through the Pecan Bottoms of Cameron Park, the course crosses the Brazos River at the Herring Street Bridge, then continues on the opposite side of the Brazos River, continuing along the river to the Waco Suspension Bridge and the finish line.
The start and finish line are located at the suspension bridge in Indian Springs Park. Past participants have remarked how neat it was to finish the race by crossing this historic Waco landmark. This is a challenging, but beautiful half marathon course.
