The Marathon Course

The course for the Miracle Match Marathon has a type of terrain for every runner!

This highly challenging marathon course, described in detail on the route page, has been described by some runners as the most challenging course in the state.

The marathon course will be open for seven hours, or from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Walkers are invited to participate in the Miracle Match Marathon, however the course will close promptly at 2:30 p.m.

Wheelchair athletes are welcome to participate in the Miracle Match Marathon. Wheelchair participants must be trained athletes. No motorized wheelchairs are allowed. Only racing chairs or handcycles are permitted. Wheelchair athletes must use only their own physical ability to move their racing chair or handcycle. Wheelchair athletes must wear an ANSI approved helmet during the competition.

Sorry - no baby strollers or pets are allowed on the marathon or 5K course. Strollers are allowed on the one-mile fun run.

Timing

We will be using chip timing for all races. Chip timers can be picked up at the Expo on Saturday or race day beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Start Times -

  • 7:30 a.m. - Marathon, Half-Marathon and Relays
  • 8:15 a.m. - One Mile Fun Run/Walk
  • 8:30 a.m. - 5K
  • Award ceremony times to be announced

Course Information

The course has been issued a measurement certificate by the USA Track and Field. The certification numbers are:

  • Full Marathon - TX07110TEM
  • Half marathon - TX07111ETM
  • 5K Race - TX06092ETM

Registration Fees

There are four fee categories

  • Early Registration - Those received by September 8 will receive a discount!
  • Regular Registration - September 8 through October 18
  • Late Registration - Registrations received after October 19 through race day will have a late fee of $10
  • Race Day Registration - Race day registrations will be accepted but will have an additional $10 fee

There are two ways to register:

By Mail: Registration forms are available in PDF format below. You can view and print the form for the event of your choice. Please complete your form and mail it in with the appropriate fees.

Relay Information

There are two divisions for the two-person and four-person relays: Open and High School Track Teams. Categories for each division are male, female and mixed.

The one-quarter point, halfway point and the three-quarter point will be clearly marked and identified prior to the marathon (See Route page) All relay points will be at a rest stop and with parking available nearby. Portable toilets will be available at the relay points. Participants are encouraged to use personal transportation to get to the relay points, but transportation to and from relay points will be provided.

Race day registration closes 45 minutes prior to the start of the event.

Directions

From IH-35, coming both northbound and southbound, exit at University Parks Drive, exit 335B. Turn west on University Parks and continue approximately four blocks to Indian Springs Park. The park is located at the 100 block of south University Parks, across the street from the Waco Hilton and one block east of the Courtyard Marriott. Parking is located on Franklin and Washington streets, one block from Indian Springs Park. (Map of available parking)

Packet Pick-Up

Participants can pick up race packets (participant bag, T-shirt, bibs) for all events on Thursday and Friday at the Waco Sports Authority store located in the Marketplace Plaza at 2408 West Loop 340, and Saturday at the Race Expo at the Waco Hilton, 113 S. University Parks Drive. Packets can be picked up from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m on the following dates:

  • Thursday, October 23
  • Friday, October 24
  • Saturday, October 25

Packets will also be available at 6:30 a.m. on race day, October 26, at the marathon start line in Indian Springs Park.

We are pleased to announce this year's hotel sponsor is the Waco Courtyard Marriott. This facility is a half block from the start/finish line and long the marathon and half marathon course. The reservation line is 254-752-8686. Please tell them you are with the Miracle Match Marathon to receive the special block rate.

Waco offers several hotels in the area. Due to Baylor University football schedules, hotels fill quickly, so make your reservation early. For additional information about Waco, contact the Waco Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Volunteers

Do you have someone coming with you who is not a runner but would like to help? Volunteers are always needed for all race-related events. Please print and fill out the volunteer form pdf document and return by fax or mail. All volunteers will receive a Miracle Match Marathon volunteer T-shirt.

There will also be a Miracle Match Marathon Spirit Award this year for the volunteer group that has the rest stop with the most spirit and runner support.
