Fellowship in Gastroenterology
The Texas A&M College of Medicine/Scott & White Gastroenterology Fellowship is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The fellowship provides three years training in the subspecialty of gastroenterology. There are two fellowship slots available per year making for a total of six gastroenterology fellows.
Training begins in July of each year. The fellowship is divided into a number of areas as detailed below. Fellows are assigned for various periods of time to inpatient and outpatient rotations in adult and pediatric gastroenterology, endoscopy, gastrointestinal radiology, clinical and surgical pathology and gastrointestinal physiology. Fellows also participate in the preparation and presentation of lectures, seminars and conferences related to the fellowship training program. They are expected to exert a major effort in the education of medical student, interns and residents rotating through the gastroenterology service.
