About Gifts to Scott & White

Gifts

Scott & White gratefully receives gifts of cash, securities, real estate, life insurance and tangible personal property. Other types of gifts that meet the needs of the hospital and the desire of the donor also may be considered. Planned gifts, such as wills, charitable remainder trusts, gift annuities and life estates are also accepted.

Gifts may be unrestricted to be used at the discretion of the Board of Trustees to support projects and programs of high priority at the time. Gifts also may be restricted to support a project or program of special interest to the donor. For example, a gift may be restricted for use in cancer research. Restricted funds for research and education programs are welcomed.

Living Gifts

Gifts may be made in memory of a loved one or friend who is deceased or may be made in honor of a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc. Memorial and honor gifts of any size are received into Scott & White’s Living Gifts program. When the gift is received, the honoree or the family of the deceased will be notified of the gift (no amounts given). The donor will receive a letter of receipt. Donors making memorial gifts of $10,000 or more may be permanently recognized with an appropriately-placed plaque or naming opportunity.

Scott & White Memorial Hospital and Scott, Sherwood and Brindley Foundation is a 501(c) 3, not-for-profit corporation. All gifts to Scott & White qualify as charitable contributions and are deductible as such on the income tax returns for the year in which the gift is given.
