Why should your surgeon be a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons?
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) is an organization that represents 97 percent of board certified plastic surgeons in the United States.
By choosing an ASPS plastic surgeon, you can be assured that the doctor has graduated from an accredited medical school and completed a minimum of five to six years or more of accredited surgical training. He has also passed rigorous written and oral exams to become certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. A review of his qualifications and ethical standards of practice are then performed before admission to membership in the ASPS.
The ASPS's mission is to support its members in their efforts to provide the highest quality patient care and maintain professional and ethical standards through education, research and advocacy of socioeconomic and other professional activities.
