The section of Pediatric Otolaryngology at The Children's Hospital at Scott & White studies, diagnoses and treats congenital or developmental otolaryngologic problems in newborns and infants. The section manages pediatric ear disease, hearing disorders and airway compromise, including surgery for airway reconstruction. The section also manages pediatric benign masses and malignant tumors of the head and neck in children.
Audiology and Balance Disorders
The Section of Audiology and Balance Disorders are dedicated to the study of hearing and balance disorders. The section diagnoses and manages profound deafness, including modern hearing amplification capabilities, hearing aids dispensation, cochlear implants programming and in-depth study of vertigo and dysequilibrium. Hearing screening tests for neonates and premature babies is applied to all children born at The Children's Hospital at Scott & White.

- Dr. Hutchinson is chief of the Section of Pediatric Otolaryngology. He is an assistant professor of surgery, and trained at the Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL and at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.

- Dr. Brammeier is the director of the Hearing and Balance Center. He is an assistant professor of surgery, and his specialty training includes Otology, Neurology & Skull Base Surgery at the Denver Ear Institute and Colorado Neurological Institute. He also trained in Otolaryngology at McGill University Medical School in Montreal, Canada.

- Dr. Pinkston is the chief of the Section of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology. He is an assistant professor of surgery and received his specialty training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
