Ophthalmology
Your child's eyes are important to us. Many of the same eye diseases that affect adults can also affect kids, such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal and orbital tumors, amblyopia and strabismus (lazy eye).
Often, however, early detection is the greatest path for success. Certain risk factors such as prematurity, a positive family history for misaligned eyes or lazy vision, developmental delay, genetic syndroms, or any brain injury should alert both family and pediatricians to the possibility of eye problems.
The staff at The Children's Hospital at Scott & White works with children, their parents, pediatricians and family physicians to ensure that children get the best vision treatment possible.
