Cardiology Achievements
- 2006 V.H.A. Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence for exceptional performance in the clinical management and treatment of heart attack patients.
- Scott & White has achieved an door-to-balloon time of less than 90 minutes in over 80 percent of patients. This measure of performance is in the top 10 percent of all U.S. hospitals as reported by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Door-to-balloon time is defined as the transition time for heart attack patients from arrival in the emergency department to restoring blood flow in the affected artery.
- American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines–Coronary Artery Disease Initial Performance Achievement Award recognizes excellence in secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease and primary prevention of stroke. Scott & White is one of three hospitals in the state of Texas to achieve this recognition.
- The Texas Medical Foundation Health Quality Institute has recognized the Institute with the 2005 Award of Excellence for AMI (acute myocardial infarction) and Heart Failure.
