About the Cancer Institute

Using research, education and new technologies, Scott & White is leading the charge to overcome cancer. Dramatic progress has been made in the fight against cancer over the last five years—but even one death is too many.

Multi-Disciplinary Cancer Teams

Twelve multi-disciplinary cancer care teams at Scott & White have changed the future of cancer. From breast cancer to prostate cancer, from brain cancer to skin cancer, specialists work with our patients to battle this complex, changing and baffling disease. The teamwork includes chaplains, social workers, psychologists, financial aid counselors, nurses, technicians, volunteers and expert physicians to meet and exceed the needs of our patients.

Cancer Patient Education and Support

At our Center for Cancer Prevention and Care (CCPC) patients find information, support and resources to help them take charge of their care. With computers for patients and families, video and book libraries, the CCPC finds the resources to care for patients.

Cancer Prevention

The treatment of cancer has always been reactive—treatment after diagnosis—but with more emphasis on prevention using new diagnostic tools, education and research, Scott & White is finding ways to stop the disease before it gets a foothold. Nationally recognized expert cancer care, personalized patient resources and support are right here in Central Texas.
