Medical Physics
The Department of Radiology's Medical Physics division:
- Provides technical support for the Division of Radiation Oncology in treating over 800 patients annually by ensuring that each treatment is safely and accurately administered. We also provide support for other divisions of the Department of Radiology – performing over 400,000 radiologic exams and treatments each year
- Provides quality assurance services for the radiation oncology division and monitors radiation safety for all Scott & White facilities
- Conducts research for the radiology department. Research efforts focus on improving patient care and advancing radiation technology
- Provides education and training to dosimetrists, residents, medical students and fellows
