Application Process and Requirements
- Applicants for the PGY-1 level are selected through the National Residency Match Program. For the upcoming match an application form should be submitted through the online Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Our program number is 172520.
- The following items are required with each application submitted for residency or fellowship to The Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine - Scott & White:
- Transcript from medical school
- Dean's letter
- Three letters of reference from faculty of medical school (or residency/fellowship experience, if applicable)
- Personal statement
- Curriculum Vitae/Resume (optional, but preferred)
- Record of other graduate medical experience, if applicable
- USMLE Scores
- ECFMG certificate, if foreign medical graduate
- Foreign medical graduates must graduate from an approved school (as determined by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.) Texas State Board of Medical Examiners listing of approved schools. Recent photograph (optional)
Admission to the Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine Graduate Medical Education program is granted without regard to race, religion, sex, creed or national origin.
All new Scott & White employees, house staff and senior medical staff are required to undergo a mandatory substance abuse test as a condition of employment.
Interview Information
How to arrange an interview
Interviews are preferentially held on Thursdays. Interviews will be scheduled beginning in November and ending the last of January. An e-mail will be sent inviting you to come for an interview when your file is complete. You may call our educational office at 254-771-8401 or send us an e-mail to schedule your interview. Your interview will begin at 7:30 a.m. with morning report and will end at approximately 2:00 p.m. Personal transportation will be needed. Lunch will be furnished.Accommodations
If you will be arriving the evening before your interview, accommodations will be provided at the hotel adjacent to the hospital, Hilton Garden Inn. Please inform our offices when you call that you will need a reservation. Please note: We request the courtesy of notification if you must cancel your visit and must bill the room cost to you if you cancel without notifying either us or the hotel.We are pleased with your interest in our program.
