The maxillofacial prosthodontist is a specialist who deals with dentures, implants and facial prostheses associated with congenital defects, trauma or ablative surgery.
Referrals are not needed for some extractions and dental procedures. However, a physician referral is needed for medical appointments.
Meet the Scott & White Team
Lance A. Read, D.D.S.
Dr. Read received his dentistry degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. He also received fellowship training from the same university. He specializes in oral and maxillofacial surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His special interests are in dental implants and orthognathic surgery.
Mitchell R. Wilkinson, D.D.S.
Like Dr. Read, Dr. Wilkinson also received his dentistry degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. In addition, he also received a certificate in prosthodontics from the same Dallas campus and a Postdoctoral Masters in Oral Biology from Baylor University in Waco.
