According to the American Lung Association, more than 35 million Americans are now living with chronic lung disease, and it is America’s number three killer, responsible for one in seven deaths.

At Scott & White, a team of physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, technologists, researchers and pulmonary specialists is working to make a difference. The Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at Scott & White treats patients who suffer from diseases of the lungs and airways. Working with individuals dealing with every lung ailment from cancer to emphysema to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease to cystic fibrosis, the pulmonary team uses state of the art technology to help patients breathe easier and get some of their independence back.

With a focus on research and education, members of the Pulmonary Division are finding new treatments and new medications to fight these devastating lung diseases. Patients come from across the United States to be treated at this specialty center.

With teamwork, expert care, diagnostics and treatment options, the Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine is one of the best in the state, and with an increased focus on research and education, Scott & White is making the future even brighter for all patients.
