Scott & White Health Plan adds Hillcrest Health System
-Agreement brings more choices to Waco-
WACO, Texas – Scott & White Health Plan and Hillcrest Health System officials today announced an agreement that will add Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and 45 Hillcrest physicians to the health plan’s provider network.
Health Plan members may begin seeing Hillcrest physicians once credentialing is finalized, a process that should be complete in the next eight to 12 weeks.
“Waco area patients and businesses have told us they would like more choices,” said Scott & White Health Plan Executive Director Allan Einboden. “We are pleased to respond by adding more physicians to our network.”
“This is an exciting new relationship for Hillcrest and Scott & White Health Plan,” said Jim Gebhart, COO of Hillcrest Health System. “Hillcrest has a reputation for providing exceptional care to Central Texans, from primary care physicians in our clinics to surgical and medical services at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. We are delighted that Scott & White Health Plan members will now be able to access Hillcrest services here in Waco.”
Scott & White Health Plan Waco Regional Director Rosemary Mayes said the latest agreement is great news for Waco-area consumers.
“This expansion of our provider network gives new options for our members and makes the Scott & White Health Plan even more attractive to area employers,” Mayes said. “This allows our members in Waco the opportunity to choose among more than 100 high quality physicians for all their healthcare needs.”
The Scott & White Health Plan covers more than 200,000 members in 34 counties. The Scott & White healthcare system employs more than 40 physicians and 150 staff members in the Waco area, where it has operated clinics for 25 years.
The Hillcrest Health System includes Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center (HBMC), a 393-licensed bed, acute care medical center and Hillcrest Family Health Center, a network of primary care clinics, including family medicine and pediatrics. Affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, HBMC is governed by a 13-member Board of Trustees, and is a member of the Voluntary Hospitals of America, Inc. The Medical Center’s primary and secondary service areas include a seven-county area of Central Texas where it has been a leader in healthcare delivery since its inception in 1920.
