Grieving the Loss of a Loved One

Grieving after the death of someone you love is normal, expected and difficult. People cope better when they have appropriate information and understanding about how grief affects their lives.
Support Groups
Scott & White Hospice offers support groups, social activities, educational programs and special services to celebrate the lives of loved ones. Currently Hearts Understanding Grief (H.U.G.) groups are held in Waco, Temple, Killeen, and Georgetown.
Celebration of Life
The Celebration of Life offers a time to remember the unique contributions our loved ones have made in our lives. This special service is non-denominational.
Individual Counseling
One-on-one grief counseling is available. Also, our referral program can link individuals with additional counseling resources.
Camp Rays of Hope
This special camp held during the summer near beautiful Hunt, Texas is designed for grieving children and teenagers. For more information call Scott and White Hospital Child Life at 254-724-5574 or Scott & White Hospice at 254-724-4090.
Special Support Groups and Programs
Specially designed groups for churches, assisted living or nursing homes residents and staff are available in order to meet their unique needs.
The Miles of Smiles Club
This club is a social outing where participants laugh, meet new friends and eat together. Monthly programs are enjoyable. Those attending are encouraged to bring a covered dish or something from the deli. Bring a friend and enjoy!

Location: Health Science Center Building on the third floor
Hours: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Our bereavement support services help people to realize they are not alone. Scott & White Hospice also provides educational information for participants about the grief process.
