The Infectious Disease Fellowship Program is based at the Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. All Scott & White postgraduate residency and fellowship programs are university affiliated with Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. Participants in the fellowship program in infectious disease are assured contact with medical students, residents and participants in other fellowship programs.

The Texas A&M College of Medicine/Scott & White Infectious Disease Fellowship is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Applicants are required to have completed three years of internal medicine residency training and be eligible for certification in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) prior to beginning fellowship training. It is expected that fellows will successfully complete the certifying examination for internal medicine during their fellowship training period.

The purpose of the fellowship is to provide a broad extensive experience with patients with infectious disease. Ample experience is provided in the ambulatory care setting. A significant number of HIV patients, transplant patients, oncology patients and other immunosuppressed hosts will be seen, as well as patients with STD’s, infections acquired in under-developed countries and hepatitis C. In addition, the fellow will participate in hospital infection control programs.
