Anesthesiology Residency Program

Anesthesiology Collage
The Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine - Scott & White Residency in Anesthesiology is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)

The program consists of four years of training as recommended by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), with provisions for the "Clinical Base" 12 months and "Clinical Anesthesia" for 36 months.

The strengths of our training program include:

  • A large faculty with diverse educational backgrounds dedicated to providing a quality education for our residents.
  • A resident/faculty ratio of 1:1.
  • Case volume is high, as the unique nature of the multispecialty clinic structure allows more cases to be performed in a shorter period of time.
  • A challenging patient population from a large referral area provides residents exposure to a broad range of clinical experiences.
  • An active pain management program which provides excellent experience in the management of chronic pain and acute postoperative pain in adult and pediatric patients.
  • A strong track record of training competent anesthesia practitioners who have been extremely successful in completing Board Certification in Anesthesiology.
  • The availability of superb clinical training in a small community providing an excellent environment for professional, personal and family growth.
